Seems fitting that the last week we are here, I upload the travel day video on how we got to Light and Salt Ministries in Nicaragua. Let me tell you, this travel day was NO JOKE, but we made it… with minimal casualties I like to think.
After spending an extra week in Jaco Costa Rica for debrief, we left on Friday to head to San Jose the capital city of Costa Rica.
Once arriving there we slept on a local church’s floor for the one night. Team Bloom, per usual, wasted no time to get an overabundance of fried chicken to help out Morgan’s craving for it. See below 😉
Regardless of sleeping on a floor, it positioned us to only be a five minute walk from the bus stop! Praise God, because our bus time departure was 6am, and our logistics team requested we get there at 430am. 20 women… fill in the blank about aiming for an earlier time to arrive somewhere, but also we needed to connect to the bus stations wifi to receive our Covid results.
Once arriving to the bus station, I was taking my time connecting to the wifi. Literally twiddling my thumbs as my dad would say, but also I did not feel like I needed to be in a hurry for anything. Finally I connected, and no Covid results were in my inbox like all my other squad mates. I told Jackie, and she naturally guided me to look at the other confirmation email to see what email I had typed for the results to go too.
Sure enough, ya girl spelled her own email WRONG. I don’t recommend emailing [email protected] … it didn’t get me very far at least.
Of course looking back at this it gives this story immense laughs, but in the moment I actually thought there was a higher chance of me remaining in Costa Rica than getting on that bus. A negative COVID test was required to get onto the bus, and I had little clue as to how I could get my results. So..now what?
Check out the video to see the whole story from our expectation of a 12 hour travel day, to a 21 hour travel day.

what a story! I got tired just watching it; I can only imagine how drawn out it must have been and how tired y’all were!
