Yes, I have a date.

No, it is probably not the date your initial thought goes too.

BUT, it is a date.

A launch date, officially in 80 days from this very moment. AUGUST 6TH 2021.

The question I keep asking myself is if it feels more real today than it did yesterday? Honestly yes, because for me personally, when I can see something in writing it hits differently than someone just “telling me”.

The same approach has been how I have to continually approach scripture. I can listen to a podcast, a sermon, even read a self help book, but the reality is that it never impacts me as it does when I open up HIS word, and read HIS truth for myself.

I can’t say that in this very moment that there is anything in scripture that is wrecking me, but rather I am simply just reading. I have read, and reread Titus more times than I can count. Then I find myself returning back to where I left off in Leviticus, and even the other day I opened up Isaiah for the first time in a long time. I am simply following His lead, and not chasing the amount of pages I can read for once. Reading for spiritual transformation and intimacy with Him, rather than information. Choosing to instead take a deep inhale of His presence, a deep inhale of the truth that comes from visually seeing His promises written on the page. Instead of seeking after the 705am reading, because that is “what I have always done” or “am suppose to do”. No more task lists with Jesus, no more boxes to be checked, but rather reading His word to be transformed. His word, the ink on the page, is more than just a history lesson. It is a love story, and reading it with my own two eyes has more of an impact that I sometimes give it credit for.

So, I can continue to read The World Race website, to look and see my name on the squad list for Global South, purchase more gear, and do all the things… but until I saw that exact date, August 6th it did not feel real. The exact time just brought forward His confirmation and promises on this trip, and it is just the start.

August 6th. Let’s go.

One response to “I have a date.”

  1. I loved your comment, “No more task lists with Jesus, no more boxes to be checked, but rather reading His word to be transformed.” The purpose for which we read influences what we get out of it too!
